Smith was born in 1965 by Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist and original ski bum. He developed the first sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. He hand built the goggles in his garage and sold them on weekend ski trips in Utah and Colorado. Today Smith continues to be an industry leader in Optic technology with eyewear and goggles for snow sports and cycling.
