Tracker S Beacon

An avalanche beacon is the one piece of backcountry gear you hope never to need and can't afford to be without. BCA's Tracker S strips the feature set down to what matters in a real search: three antennas for accurate multiple-burial detection, a Signal Suppression mode to isolate the closest victim's signal, and Big Picture mode to keep a wide-area search organized when the group is spread out.

It runs on three AAA batteries with roughly 250 hours of transmit time or 50 hours of search time, and at 5.8 oz it disappears into a jacket pocket or harness. The Tracker S skips the upgradeable software and motion-sensing revert of the step-up Tracker 4, trading those extras for a simpler, more affordable beacon backed by a 5-year warranty.
