Burton designed the Hitchhiker in partnership with Spark R&D, and it shows in the details: a lightweight aluminum baseplate with a built-in fatty wire that switches between stowed, low (12°), and high (18°) climbing positions without extra parts to lose on a windy ridge. A negative-lean highback design maximizes stride length on the skin track, then locks in place for a solid connection on the way down.
Double Take buckles and Hammockstrap 2.0 keep the fit secure with minimal pressure points across a long tour, and a Supergrip capstrap wraps the toe snugly. It mounts straight to 2015-and-newer Burton splitboards with no extra hardware, and works with Voile or Spark R&D pucks on other setups, with a medium-stiff flex that splits the difference between resort playfulness and backcountry control.
