Splitboard bindings flex more than a solid snowboard binding by design, which costs you edge control on firm sidehills and traverses. Karakoram's Flex-Lock fixes that on demand: a cord-and-lever system ties the highback to your boot, and flipping a switch on top of the highback adds lateral tension for a locked-in, edge-to-edge feel comparable to a stiff AT boot.
Flip it off and you get full lateral flex back for comfortable touring; flip it on before a firm descent and edging performance jumps significantly over a binding without lateral support. It's compatible with Karakoram AirFlow, Reactive, and Carbon highbacks, and works with every Karakoram binding built since 2012, so it's a straightforward add for anyone already running their system.
